RAM - Random-access memory (RAM) is the memory that is used to keep the information that is currently being used. The more memory, the faster information can be brought up. Hard Drive - The disk on which all of the computer's programs and information is stored is called the hard drive. The reason many people are buying laptops is so they can be mobile and still have access to all their files as well as to their email and the internet. There are many locations that offer internet access through wireless fidelity (WiFi). As such, it is important that your laptop comes with WiFi, otherwise your ability to connect to the internet away from home can be severely limited.
Processor - This is the thinking part of the computer. The processor is what takes all the information that you are using and processes it. Whether it is computations, edits to images, lines of text, or selecting the next web page, the processor is involved. There have been great advancements in processors, now with duo core technology, which means that even more of the processor is computing. A high processor speed indicates how many computations it can complete in a second.
When buying a laptop, it is important to look at the laptop computer ratings. Every brand has a range of models available, with different specifications. While more memory and faster processing will cost you more initially, you will find that you will get more years of use out of it than one that costs less with less memory and slower processing.
